Variance reporting is a dead-simple way to calculate how your actual performance relates to a budget or forecast. To get started head to Metrics -> New Data Source and click Create on the Variance Report card.

Once you are in the Variance report builder you'll be able to perform the following actions:

  • Assing an actual metric to forecast/budget. E.g. Revenue and Revenue - Forecast.

    • Drag & Drop the position of the metrics

  • Select your fiscal year-end

    • This is helpful for non-calendar years when calculating YTD variance report metrics

  • Select the respective metrics you with to calculate:

    • MTD Variance

    • MTD Variance %

    • YTD Actual

    • YTD Variance

    • YTD Variance %

    • YTD Actual

    • prior yr YTD Actual

    • prior yr YTD Variance

    • prior yr YTD Variance %

Once you hit Save, you'll be able to view your Variance Report as well as add it to any dashboard.

Any metrics that are calculated in your variance report can also be used in charts and tables. When in the chart or table builder select the Variance Report tab.

This will allow you to visualize any variance report metrics.
